The Ashinaga Basami shear is a basic tool for thinning and defoliating bonsai. The Standard Concave Branch Cutter and the Ashinaga shear are generally considered the two most basic Bonsai tools.
This version is a less expensive Ashinaga shear for the serious student. Its' laminated construction and nice finish is a good compromise between cost and quality for serious enthusiasts.
