This is a great soil additive. Its like the broken pottery pieces that your read about used to make Japanese bonsai soil.  It is fired at around 1,200 degrees.  Use it in place of sand that is hard to find in the right size.  Also use it in place of Cat litter, as it will not break down, and turn to mush like Cat litter.  We never use a cat litter, but have read that some do.
